Graduated from the Department of Optics & Optometry at the Technological Institute of Athens (T.E.I) (Grade 8).

He was awarded a Master degree (MPhil) from University of Aston, Department of Vision Sciences, in Birmingham Department of Vision Sciences. His research and his final thesis were on multifocal ophthalmic lenses. During acquisition of the Masters degree (MPhil) he was a scholar of the Greek National Foundation Scholarships after succeeding in national exams. He also worked as a Clinical Demonstrator at the University of Aston Birmingham from 1989-90. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy University of Aston, Department of Vision Sciences, in Birmingham, His research and his final thesis were on measuring modern multifocal ophthalmic lenses with interferometry.

From 1993 he worked as a Laboratory Associate in the Department of Optics & Optometry at T.E.I. of Athens. In 1994 he organized the laboratory of Clinical refraction which he teaches in the Department of Optics & Optometry of TEI up until now. In 1996 he was awarded for his active participation from TEI of Athens and the Greek Optical Society for organizing postgraduate training programs on “Ophthalmic and Clinical Refraction” and “Contact Lenses”organized by the TEI the Greek Optical Society. In 2004 he organized the laboratory of Optometry at the Department of Optics & Optometry of TEI Athens where he still teaches.

He has also participated as speaker at conferences in Greece, has organized and taught graduate seminars in Optometry and Contact Lenses at TEI of Athens, and Thessaloniki. He is a writer of several scientific articles published in Greek and in foreign journals (Ophthalmic & Physiological Optics) and his books (5) are taught in Department of Optics & Optometry of TEI of Athens.
